Promoting Well being at school through creativity
Project coordinator: Gaia Ierace (Venturi, Italy)
Partners: Venturi Art Institute, Modena, Germany, Greece,
Teachers involved: Gaia Ierace, Linda Pantel, Vasilis Sitras, Ioanna Liape
Timing: from November 2024 to April 2025
Short Description:
The project is about the concept of well being at school. We will look at various sources of well being for students such as meditation, music and psychodrama. Our students will first introduce themselves and their school. We will explore some netiquette and privacy issues so that students can confidently work online and in the Twinspace. Then we will organize international groups so that students will use English as their common language. They will be involved in some Christmas activities connected with manual, creative work and well being such as arts and crafts, carrol singing and dancing. We will film some of these products, take a photo or a short reel and upload them on a padlet. In international groups, students brainstorm the idea of well being in order to develop a concept that will underpin their logo creation process
We will then prompt students to reflect on their sources of well being using worksheets and brain storming techniques. We will also prompt them to reflect on situations that do not promote well being especially in a formal context such as school. Last but not least students will choose a source of well being and a source of unease and they will write a script about them. Through role plays and the technique of psychodrama students will become more aware of what makes them happy but they will also learn to confront them what causes some worries.
Each international group will write a script, edit it and act it out during our online meetings. Students will also write the script in a digital book enriching it with their drawings or any other visual aid or music that will enhance their script. The scripts will be published in a digital book that will be disseminated in each of the participating school in a Well being day promoted in May by each school where students will describe these project to other classes, their teacher and their headteacher. In the course of the morning there will be a video call among the participating schools, Italy, Germany and Greece, where each group will act a short bit of their role play in front of a wider audience.
